Cycling in Marburg: Interactive transition matrix figures


This article is an extension of my series of blog articles that deals with a quantitative analysis of Nextbikes in Marburg. This series covers:

This article adds interactive graphics of the Nextbike transition matrix to the series. This matrix is a major result from the series of articles and is therefore worth to be explorable interactively.

First, I show the previously shown transition matrix without diagonal elements.

Second, I show the transition matrix with diagonal elements which hasn’t been shown before. It becomes apparent that the number of bikes returning to their original stations is larger than the number of bikes that transition between stations.
